Taliworks contract for Langkawi water supply expired Oct 31

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 2): Taliworks Corp Bhd announced that the privatisation contract made between Taliworks (Langkawi) Sdn Bhd and the Government of Kedah Darul Aman has expired on Oct 31.

The privatisation contract to manage the operations and maintenance of the water supply system in Langkawi commenced on Oct 7, 1995.

“Upon expiration of the privatisation contract, we have handed the operations to a corporatised body under the State Government of Kedah, Syarikat Air Darul Aman Sdn Bhd,” it said in an announcement at Bursa Malaysia.

Taliworks had operated and maintained Langkawi's entire water supply and distribution facilities since 1995.

At the time of writing, Taliworks shares were down one sen or 1.23% at 80 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.62 billion.
