KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Rakyat has appointed Datuk Rosman Mohamed as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective Feb 1.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof said the appointment has been confirmed and gone through the ‘fit and proper’ assessment process by Bank Negara Malaysia.
Rosman has demonstrated outstanding commitment and consistency in spearheading the implementation of Bank Rakyat 2025 as well as the initiative to empower Bank Rakyat’s new core banking system which is scheduled to be operational in June 2020, the minister said in a statement.
Rosman, who served as Bank Rakyat’s board member since April 1, last year. Subsequently he assumed the role of acting managing director from Aug 1, last year. With his appointment as the CEO, Rosman will step down as a board member.
He previously served as Bank Rakyat’s senior general manager, corporate services and as a credit officer and head of career training and development at Maybank.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Louis University, Missouri and Bachelor of Business Administration from Urbana University, Ohio.
