KUALA LUMPUR (June 16): Internet-of-Things (IoT) chip designer and manufacturer Key ASIC Bhd together with online digital health platform provider UCrest Bhd have obtained the deal to provide an Internet-of-Medical-Things (IoMT) technology to the medical sector.
In a joint statement today, the companies said Key ASIC’s MCard and UCrest’s iMedic will be bundled with ventilators manufactured by BMC Medical.
The MCard is a secure digital (SD) card which allows any device or equipment to be connected to the internet, while iMedic is a leading edge online hospital that has a robust cloud-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Key ASIC and UCrest founder/chairman Eg Kah Yee said the technology will reduce the risk of infection for frontline healthcare workers as it allows doctors to access the patient’s data which has been uploaded onto iMedic via the IoMT-equipped ventilators, enabling them to manage the patients remotely.
“It allows BMC Medical to manage and support its channel partners effectively in the shortest possible response time,” he said.
The company expects to have more bundling deals of MCard and iMedic with various medical devices in the near future and enabling millions of patients to get online medical services, he added.
