Securities Commission is said to tap CIMB’s Zain as executive director

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 24): Zain Azhari Mazlan, managing director of corporate finance at CIMB Investment Bank Bhd., will be joining Malaysia’s Securities Commission in January, according to people familiar with the matter.

* Zain will be the regulator’s executive director of corporate finance investments, a portfolio held by Eugene Wong, who gave notice he won’t be renewing his contract in May, said the people, asking not to be identified as the information isn’t public yet

* Zain couldn’t be immediately reached for comment

* Representatives for CIMB and Securities Commission declined to comment
