KUALA LUMPUR (May 18): Scicom (MSC) Bhd has teamed up with Qualitas Medical Group to launch Covid-19-MY-Screening, which has been touted as Malaysia's first integrated Covid-19 testing platform to help both employers and employees seamlessly manage all Covid-19 screening requirements.

In a bourse filing today, Scicom said the platform is an end-to-end system that consists of a public e-commerce website and test center management system integrated with the Covid-19- MY mobile app, which showcases "track and trace" and "digital check-in" functionalities.

"The system allows all Malaysian employers, along with both domestic and foreign employees to register for Covid-19 screenings, schedule test appointments and track test results prior to resuming their work duties," it said.

To ensure that the system is in line with existing national contact tracing efforts, employees' test results will be seamlessly uploaded to the Covid-19 MY mobile app, said Scicom.

"Using this app, employees will be able to conveniently show their results to employers and relevant authorities for verification while travelling to and from office premises.

"This app will also be configured to provide audible proximity alerts to help 'at risk' users adhere to social distancing requirements and will incorporate a digital check-in feature for businesses — enabling them to facilitate safe visitor entry and exit from office premises via the capture of a registered business QR code," it said.

Additionally, users can also access up-to-date safety precautions, the Ministry of Health hotline, latest verified Covid-19 news and Covid-19 tests center contact information through this integrated Covid-19 testing platforms.

Qualitas Medical Group's chairman and managing director Datuk Dr Noorul Ameen said: "All it takes is one case at the workplace to cause the potential emergence of another cluster and this platform was designed to help combat that threat."

Scicom said all screenings will be conducted using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests. To administer these tests, employers and employees can choose to be screened on-site (at designated location) or at a Qualitas clinic or at a registered medical screening center.

Meanwhile, Scicom group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Leo Ariyanayakam said the combination of Qualitas' medical expertise and extensive distribution network along with Scicom's integrated digital capabilities have worked synergistically to create a consumer friendly platform that significantly mitigates the threat of Covid-19 in Malaysia as we adjust to a new normal.

At the midday break, Scicom shares gained 0.53% or 0.5 sen to 95 sen, for a market capitalisation of RM337.68 million.
