KUALA LUMPUR (March 23): Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd’s charitable arm Yayasan Kossan has pledged to donate two million pieces of medical gloves to support Malaysian authorities in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement today, Kossan group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Tan Sri Lim Kuang Sia said the company continues to ensure the supply of personal protective equipment such as rubber gloves remains uninterrupted.
Meanwhile, Yayasan Kossan president Lawrence Lim said the foundation has been donating gloves, namely Shirudo Confidenz and Shirudo 7th Sense nitrile gloves, to the government and local authorities as well.
“Since Feb 26, 2020, Yayasan Kossan has been donating gloves to [the] government and local authorities such as the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA), Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters (IPKKL), Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) including the Marine Police Force, Civil Defence Malaysia (APM), Klang Fire and Rescue Department, Klang and Shah Alam Municipal Councils, medical centers such as Hospital Serdang and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, old folks’ homes as well as dialysis centres,” he said in the statement.
He added the gloves are medical-grade gloves and tested against viral penetration.
At 11.27am, Kossan shares rose six sen or 1.26% to RM4.81, valuing it at RM6.08 billion.
